Archaeolink is a multi award winning living history park and visitor attraction, with a central focus on education, participation and fun.
Travel 10,000 years in one day from the Mesolithic to a Roman Marching Camp, with indoor and outdoor exhibitions, featuring hands on activities, workshops and guided tours everyday, Archaeolink is a dynamic historical experience for all the family.
Situated in the beautiful countryside of Aberdeenshire in the shadow of the dramatic Bennachie mountain range, the park occupies a central location in the diverse archaeological landscape of North East Scotland.
It is located at Oyne, between Inverurie and Insch.
It is easy to drive past as it is built into the ground and looks a bit like Telly Tubby Land
Look for events on the Website, there are even FREE events on now and again.
Best to go when an event is on, but it is still worth a visit if you are in the area.
The higest point on Bennachie is called Mither Tap.
There is a stone walled fort there (ruins of).
There are a few ways to get up to it via paths, some steep and some long walks. The shortest is the steepest, but as long as you are fit and take your time you will manage to climb the hill. Care and good shoes or boots recommended. Allow 3 hours at least!

Archaeolink - Storytelling Celts and a Roman! Samhain
I have been there a couple of times and never been dissapointed.
It has always been a special event and I have got in FREE.
There was a band playing the first time I went in the Restraunt and they were quite good. I listened for over half an hour of them playing. Not pop but older music
That day the place was full of Romans!!!
Didn't scare me though as I am a Pict and we sent them south forever Mind you we did suffer a huge defeat near Bennachie where they slaughtered us, but they were so scared they fled south and built Antonines Wall. Huh! Didn't last long before they had to flee south to the proper border and build another wall
