A blazing barrel is carried around the streets of Burghead on the evening of January 11th (New year in the Julian calendar). Coals are delivered to notable houses to kindle the fires before the barrel is taken to the top of Doorie hill, and doused with fuel.
Can any of you Scots provide more information over this please?
