What was it?

Seen while going down the river, it moved after a while and went from one side of the river to the other.
It floated down the river and then came back up, floated down again and then came back up at speed  



It was the strangest thing I had seen for a while!

It was a huge inflatable ball, (beach ball type) nothing more complicated than that   being silver in colour made it look rather weird on the water.  The wind was enough to make it travel up the river against the flow.  It was very light so even a light puff of wind was enough.



It came too close to the bank and was rescued from a watery grave and returned to its rightful owner.

It looks like a one of the exercise balls you get in gym.

It did remind me of something out of the sixties series of The Prisoner".

Nah, although it was very erratic, it was far more stable than Welshie

I loved "The Prisoner"  It was like welshie, quirky, mad and weird.
