A passenger plane has crashed into a house in Buffalo, New York state, officials have said.

CNN cited aviation officials saying 48 people were on board the Newark to Buffalo flight.

One unconfirmed report said that 44 passengers and four crew had been killed. A local emergency official said there were "multiple fatalities".

The plane hit the house at 2210 (0310GMT), officials said. TV footage showed the house engulfed in flames.

Actually there is two people that were in the house (mother 57 and daughter 22) escaped with scratches, the husband/father was the one killed.

Sad, but same time lucky that plane came down more or less straight if it had came done horizontally they say it would have taken out most of the town.

OK there is total of 50 killed as there was an off duty pilot on board.
So 49 on board and 1 in the house.

They think it was caused by Icing on the wings?

I'm sure I watched a program about these aircraft icing up on the wings and causing them to nose dive straight into the ground.

I don't think there has been any modifications done to them

We will not know what happened to it until they recover the data from the Black Boxes.

What has happened in the past is they turned turtle and have nose dived straight into the ground and no emergency call made as the pilots were to busy trying to get control.

I'm sure it is the same aircraft.  There are a lot of them about as well!

If it is not the aircraft I am thinking of, I do apologise in advance

A plane did a hard landing at London

Not the same type and more like an error.
